DIVERSITY, INCLUSION & EQUITY
OUR APPROACH
At COS, we're building a future we want to see, and we’re committed to Inclusion, Diversity and Equity in everything we do.
We are committed to creating and maintaining inclusive, diverse and equitable workplaces throughout our organisation, fostering a culture that respects and embraces diversity. COS is a global brand, present in more than 40 markets around the world, with colleagues from many different cultures and backgrounds.
Inclusion and diversity are complex, ever-changing issues and there are many definitions. We work to promote inclusion and diversity in all aspects of our business. We do not see it as something static, but as something we are constantly working on. To us, inclusion is diversity in action, and in an inclusive and diverse environment, we can all contribute to optimise our decision-making and team performance by reflecting, respecting and relating to our colleagues, customers and communities.
PEOPLE

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT SURVEY Our employee engagement survey is the main tool for engaging with employees across the organisation. It covers our six pillars of engagement: wellbeing, clarity, connection, empowerment, growth and purpose. The insights gained from the employee engagement survey are used at different levels and help teams to better understand how H&M Group can continue to improve and develop as an employer and deliver on our commitment to respecting the rights of all our employees. RECRUITMENT Building more diverse teams represents an important part of our inclusion and diversity work. To do so, and to be fully inclusive when acquiring new talent, we have structured, fair, transparent and competency-based recruitment processes to minimise subjectivity and bias.
Committed managers and HRs trained to understand why and how we should build diverse teams ensure that we create internal and external talent pipelines, expand our diversity recruitment and increase our representation. COLLEAGUE RESOURCE GROUPS To enable belonging and a culture of inclusion at COS, we have Colleague Resource Groups (CRGs) – voluntary, colleague-led groups supported by the organisation, aimed at fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. The CRGs are a safe space where colleagues can connect, build community, network with leaders and peers, and develop personally and professionally. They enable greater cultural agility,
LEARNING
TRAINING At any time, colleagues can access our robust inclusion and diversity curriculum filled with resources that address common workplace issues. These learning paths review current thinking and best practices on essential topics such as unconscious bias, cultural appropriation and representation, psychological safety and various others. Those in leadership roles are given additional inclusion and diversity training. Trainings are available for all employees through internal learning platforms.
MOMENTS THAT MATTER COS Moments That Matter are global internal initiatives designed to unite colleagues, raise awareness and strengthen our inclusive culture. By recognising, respecting and building meaningful connections, these moments uplift diverse communities, spark essential conversations, and highlight opportunities for allyship and solidarity.
POLICIES

In the rare case that an impropriety arises, our global grievance policy aims to ensure that all employees have access to an effective procedure for the handling of violation of our human rights policies. This procedure is localised in accordance with applicable legislation. We understand that speaking truth to power can be hard. That’s why we’ve provided our employees with a reporting channel, Speak Up, which can be used should any serious improprieties occur.
What we do at COS is also part of a wider vision. Together, the H&M group is working towards change. Explore our standards and policies here.
